Hard Girls

Hard Girls is an indie punk band from San Jose, CA—It's something I wouldn't normally post on here, but it's hard to hide my punk roots. I've had this EP, Hello, for some time now and every time I listen to it I just can't stop. It's hard to find a "new" punk band to listen to these days. They have some real nice rough vocals, with some down right awesome guitar riffs. I read a review that said they sound like Broken Social Scene if they put down their old man sweaters and picked up their skateboards.  So if you too want to find a new band that you can listen through on repeat for hours (like I do) then you have to download this.

The Egyptian Dissident's Manual

An interesting piece of our age.

The Dead People

The Dead People's Withdrawel Shirt was referred to us from our dude over at Ruby Scoops. At first I wasn't too sure what to make of it, but after throwing it on loop in the studio I realized what they're doing is pretty chill—it kinda sounds like if you take some lo-fi punk and throw in some Mars Volta. I'd give it a chance if I were you—maybe even two.

Baths

A good friend recommended Will Wiesenfield's debut as Baths, Cerulean. Great review over at tinymixtapes. Listen on Last.fm. Download here.

Small Black

Small Black is a band from Brooklyn, New York. They're pretty much what Animal Collective would sound like if they weren't trying to be so weird, or if they had a love child with Broken Social Scene. It's a slow electronic beat with a flowing rhythmic voice. Their new LP is called New Chain, and you can get it here.

Jan Švankmajer

Czech surrealist animator Jan Švankmajer's Možnosti dialogu [Dimensions of Dialogue] from 1982. Parts 2 and 3—"Passionate discourse" and "Factual conversation"—below.

Glasser

Do you like Karen O? Then you probably going to like this EP I found the other day by a band called Glasser, from what I know its one girl who experiments with loops and layered electronic beats with different acoustic instruments, its a pretty easy lesson and her voice sound like an angel so defiantly check it out.

Hengki Koentjoro

Hengki Koentjoro's photographs are so amazing and beautiful, I could hardly pick which ones to post, so for you own good go HERE and look at all of them
